Aww... How Sweet!!

Ohh.. Caleb is such a darling recently.
At feeding time, he would be given a spoon and bowl to play around.
Now, I will ask him to feed MaMa mum-mum and he will 'shove' the spoon into my mouth..
So sweet of him hor...

All I want for my 1st year old birthday is.. .. .. .. ..Sore Eyes

We made plans to go Sentosa on 17th Jan~Caleb's actual birthday. Hmm.. instead of spending the day making merry with the sun.. sand ... and the beach, we had to make a trip to the PD instead.

The culprit who jeopardised all the plans is nobody else but Mummy dearest. Mummy got eye infection on 15th Jan. It is a very very bad infection. It's so infectious that almost everyone in the house, except Ah Ma and the very preggie Angie yiyi. (heehee in other words, they are strong!!!!)

It was really terrible for babies or ahem toddlers to get eye infections. They will constantly rub and rub their eyes. Initially it started with just 1 eye getting red, and sticky with discharge. Very soon, the other eye started having the same symptom. It was very painful watching Caleb suffering and knowing that I was the culprit that caused him all these pain.

We wanted to bring him to see Doc Ng, but his clinic is closed on Wed night. So no choice, we went to Doc JT Heng at Jurong East. The clinic is rather new and well.. a faint smell of fresh paint in the air. Well, need to take some measurements at the clinic. Caleb is 74.5cm and a whopping 11.6kg now. No wonder, all our backs are aching so badly now. Heehee now we know why. Anyway Doc Heng said its a good thing that the redness is in both eyes and not just 1 eye. Redness in 1 eye could mean something else like internal bleeding in the brain or something. Doc Heng said the infection could take 2-5 days to clear up. Sianz!!
But apart from the eye infection, Caleb was also down with slight fever. However it was controlled by the adminstration of Paracetomol. Caleb also lost his appetite. He puked out his porridge and Ah Ma decided, no porridge only milk to be given. Poor Baby!!!

We have celebrated Caleb's 1st year old birthday today. Phew!!!! The day was sure long and tiring but its definately rewarding.

Well, the day started early for us with Caleb waking up at 7.30am for milk. After drinking and lazing around, we decided to go Giant to make last minute purchases.
We were also desperately trying to get some coloured papers from Giant so that we can cut out Caleb's name and stick it on the wall.. Well, as expected the selection at Giant was really limited. There are only 2 colours to choose from. We got the typical blue coloured papers. We also made last minute grabs for packet drinks for our guests. When we reached home, the delivery guy from Neo Garden was at our door step. We are kinda shocked cos it was only like 9+. The guy was quite candied. He said, not to worrie.. i just come and set up first. Today too many orders, so if we have to make such arrangements. So we just left him alone to do his job. We quickly bathe Caleb so that he could take a nap before the guest starts arriving. He seems to know that it is a special day today and hence Daddy spent quite some time patting him before he really fell asleep.

After making Caleb nap, Daddy proceeded to work on cutting out Caleb's name and pasting it on the wall. Daddy really made an effort to make it look good. He still drafted out the words on a paper before writing on the actual blue paper. Heehee.. the end results look good ok! Hahaha.. appreciate him to work on that cos Mummy's arts in school was really bad.

To be fair, Mummy worked on the balloons. Mummy rented the helium tank from Party City at $30/day. We also had to pay an additional $5 to keep the tank till Sunday. The sales assistant was saying that we could pump about 40 balloons based on the tank that we rented. So Mummy choose the colours of the balloon the night before. But after pumping about 40 balloons, there was still helium gas left, so Mummy continued pumping.. and pumping.. and pumping. All in all, about 60 balloons are being inflated. The place look like a nursery hahaha.. with babies, toddlers, balloons and all...

However, there was a small incident which really kinda spoil the day (ok lar, not the entire day but initially lar) Prima Deli actually spelled Caleb's name wrongly. They spelt it as Caled... helloo... what are u guys thinking man. The delivery guy was still saying.. its ok 1, nobody will take notice of the name one! Unker, u must be joking right.. how can guest who are attending birthday never pay attention to the name of the cake... DUH!!!!! So angry. Spoke to the sales office people who called up the Jurong Point branch to verify. Hmm.. turns out to be, its their fault. When we order the cake, we already realised that the lady has spelt the name wrongly. We told her to amend which she did on the order chit. We did expressed concerns if the amendment is good enough, and she assured us that it is good enough. But apparently when she faxed the order chit over, the amendment was not clear and the chef went to do a beautiful D intead of B.
Hence, they have to collect the cake back and re-do the name. Was abit angry with them cos they called and ask if they can deliver the cake at 3pm instead cos they have no driver...Got real agitated and screamed, do u expect me to go up to every single guest to ask if they can stay till 3pm cos Prima Deli who screwed up my cake can only delivery by 3pm??? Heehee... upon hearing this, they say okok, we will send immediately. So, they really came at 1.45 pm which was slightly later than what we have planned but still acceptable. Hence we proceeded with our 'cake cutting ceremony'.

Caleb was rather lost during the whole birthday song tingie and cake cutting. But i'm glad that he did not cry cos he's not used to having so many attention on him at one time. Heehee.. maybe its all thanks to the 'prep work' that we have been doing. We have been singing the Happie Birthday song to him for like 2 weeks or so. Kiasu mummy read from somewhere that there was a baby who was badly tramuatised during his 1st year old party that he only dared to celebrate again when he was like 4 years old. Hence we decided to prep him for this huge event. Hence even though he did not clap his hands, we were just glad that he did not cry hahahaa....

Rush Rush Day

Ohh... January is a busy and joyous month.
We will be busy attending Caleb's friends birthday party and also his own birthday celebration.

Well.. for a start, we attended 3 birthday parties today!! Woohoo!!!

Firstly, we attended Daren's birthday party at Boon Tiong Rd. Wow, his party was very colourful with all the pretty balloons lying on the floor. Aunty Sophia and Uncle David blew them up... puff.. puff.. puff... They also had a very interesting Elmo balloon that sings. That was really like a center of attention. Oh 1 interesting fact to bring up. Daren's Nai Nai kept Uncle David's 1st year old birthday outfit till now. So now that Daren turned 1, she let Daren wore it as well... very nostalgic right.

After Daren's party, we went home for a nap. Then we went over to Celeste's Party at Aloha Bungalow!!! Wow, the place is huge! Aunty Celine bought Barney VCDs to entertain Celeste but it kinda entertain Caleb too. Find it strange that when Caleb was first shown Barney at home, he did not show interest. He seem to appreciate Barney at Aloha. Hahahaa
Oh, there was also a doggie there, think named Yuki. He was really cute! Caleb loved dogs!

After the cake cutting, we pop over to Megan's place at Punggol. By the time, it was already 8pm+. Caleb was getting cranky already. But then, when he saw Aunty Tracy's doggie he seem to forget that its bedtime. He was happily chasing the dog. He was like touching the dog, or rather 'hitting' it. He was not scared of the dog at all. Aunty Tracy was very nice. She waited for us to come then she cut Meg's birthday cake. As usual, Meg was her composed self. She was clapping her hands happily while the rest was singing and watching her.

Well, hopefully Caleb will also be clapping his hands as we sing the Happy Birthday song to him. Heehee...

Finally we are going to MS again.. Yipee..

But this time round, we are meeting Uncle Ray, Candice Yiyi and Ernest Didi there.

Before we reach there, Uncle Ray was 'expediting' Papa already asking how come we are so late.

Aiyah, BB need to nap mah, that's why abit later loh.

Ernest Didi has grown quite alot from the last time we saw him. Heehee see the pics for verification. His screams are quite loud as well haha.. very loud for such a young a baby.

We went to Sakae sushi for dinner but Caleb wasnt allowed to eat anything cos Mami says

1st Studio Shoot!!

Wow weee...We brought Caleb for his 1st ever photoshoot and guess what, all of us enjoyed it tremendously.
The studio which we selected is U-Foto and we choose the photographer, David. David was good and he clicked with Caleb almost instantly. He teased and played with Caleb and got him to loosen up. As some of u already know, Caleb is pretty dao, hence prior to the photoshoot we were quite apprehensive about it. But he cooperated with David and took good pics.

The only drawback was that, Caleb was quite cranky by the time Mummy's makeup was done. There was only 1 makeup artist, and hence Ah Ma went to do the makeup first. But nonetheless, it was still a good experience.

As for the package, think i will post it here even though I'm sure Angie yiyi will be reading it.

Bye Bye

Caleb always says something to shock us.

Yesterday, while waving good bye to Ah Mah, he suddenly blurted out 'Bye Bye'. It was so clear. As usual, we are very very excited when we heard that.

He is really picking up words fast. Think need to show him the 'Baby can read' Vcd more often for him to pick up more words!

1st Bus and MRT ride

We decide to be adventurous today and take the bus and MRT to go shopping.
Heehee its a white lie to say that we are adventurous lar, the fact is we are not sure of the way to Causeway point @ Woodlands.

Anyway, its Caleb 1st time taking the bus and MRT. I would say he was quite intrigued by the new surroundings. He kept looking at the aircon vents on the buses. He went screaming for joy hahaha.. some aunties are affected by his scream while some thought he looked darn kawaii!!!
Caleb is now more playful. He is now ok to interact with strangers. He will like smile, laugh to get their attention. The commuters are amused and will play along with him.

Anyway, taking the MRT was much easier compared to bus. I had to fold the pram and carry it up the bus which i thought was a hassle. For MRT just pushed in can liao. Somemore they are lifts from the lobby to go up to the platforms, this also made it more safe.

Angels in the Park Photoshoot

Together with some forum mummies, we organised a photoshoot for our BBs at the Botanic Gardens~Eco Gardens. The theme was Angels in the Park.

In order for them to look really like angels, we have to prepare some 'props'. They are the angels wings, a all-white diaper, a white rompers (in case it rains). Well, after getting all these ready, we thought our angels are all set to flash their white pearlies.

But the weather was something we could not control. Before our photoshoot, it was raining. Hence the weather became very humid. Our photographer, Jocelyn had brought along some plastic transparent sheets for the babies to sit, stand, roll etc. But the plastic sheet was not that good cos it sticks to their body.

Caleb did not quite like the plastic sheets. The minute i put him down onto the sheets, he started crying. No choice, i gota pick him up. I think majority of the shots, Caleb was not sitting down on the sheets. I sure hope the pics turn out well.

Oh yes, special thanks to Angie Yiyi, Eugene Gugu and Molly Yiyi. They specially made time to come for this photoshoot. Their help is appreciated!!!

Gosh... I have been a bad bad mum.
I have been saying the wrong things in front of BB Caleb.
My pet phrase when my mum asked me questions.."Hah Nah Hah Nah"
BB Caleb has managed to pick up these words. So now, when we tell him dun do this, or this is so and so.. he will go hah nah hah nah...
Wow, its actually very frustrating to hear such replies. Now I definately know how my mum felt. I have to stop using this sentence...

New Hair Cut

BB Caleb's hair is very long already. It has overlapped to the ears area now.
And i think it must have irritated him quite abit cos he has been tugging and pulling it. So now, his scalp area has gone quite red from all the tugging.
Ah Ma decided to bring him down for a hair cut as she cannot bear to see him so uncomfortable. They sat him down at the barber, distracted him with mirrors, songs and conversations and was able to get a decent hair cut. BB Caleb only cried towards the end of the session. Well, he look like a big big boy after the hair cut. But partly it's because Ah Gong gave him a side parting.

Swimming Escapade!!!

Brought BB Caleb to Arena Club to swim today. Made a last minute dash to Kiddy Palace @ Jurong Point and got him a bright bright swim suit... hahahaaa... Previously we also bought a car swim float with steering wheels. Finally we got a chance to use it.
We 1st went down to the baby or rather kiddie pool. The water there is cold because the sun was not able to penetrate in. Although BB Caleb did not display any discomfort with the cold water, we decided to switch over to the adult pool. Its much better with the warm sun shining, making the pool warm.
BB Caleb is not intimidated by the size of pool. He was his cool usual self, relaxing and leaning on his swimming float. Daddie decided to carry him out of the swim float and let him move the limbs. He enjoyed it much better and began to 'piak piak' the water.
Heehee.. we also did a dangerous act. We dunked him in the water.. he was rather taken aback but soon after, he regained his composure! Hahahaaa

BB Caleb has managed to stand with some support. But he is still not very stable yet. We are not so eager for BB Caleb to walk. Will prefer him to crawl longer. He looks very adorable when he crawls forward. Babies really develop so fast!

Jiao Yu Ji Jing

Angie Yi Yi has a love-hate relationship with 4d. She will place bets for Wed, Sat and Sun.
Well just this evening, when we are making our way to the carpark, we spotted a car having the same car plate no as Angie Yiyi. Angie Yiyi turned to BB Caleb and said: " Jia Jun, onz with YiYi ok. Tomorrow we go Selegie (place to collect 4D winnings)"
True enough, Angie Yiyi really strike 4D today and its top prize somemore. Well she decided to contribute to BB Caleb's Jiao Yu Ji Jing.. very generous of her..

Viral Fever

BB Caleb developed fever, shot up to 38.6 degrees. It was really nerve wrecking trying to bring the temperature down.Well, sad to say blur Dadddie and Mummie actually tried to bathe him and this is totally wrong. Once Bb Caleb was lowered into his bath tub, he screamed in horrow and practically 'jumped' out of the tub. He must be badly tramatised by this sudden change of temperature. Daddie and Mummie really felt very helpess and guilty about inflicting such pains, but really at a loss on what to do.It was not until the next day until we realised how serious the consequences were. BB Caleb could have gone into thermal shock, oh my oh my!!!

After a few dosage of paracetemol, BB Caleb's fever still persisted. Well, being very kan jiong parents, we brought BB Caleb to the 24hour clinic at Mt A. The nurse helped to take the temperature and it went up to 38.7 degrees. Due to the fever, we are isolated in a tiny room with 4 white walls. The doctor on duty assessed BB Caleb and said since there are no signs of infection, BB Caleb might have contracted the viral fever which should go away by 2-3 days. We suspected that BB Caleb might has caught this fever bug while shopping at Robinson yesterday. True enough, by tuesday, BB Caleb is back to his own self again under the TLC of Papa, Mama, Ah Mah and Ah Gong.

Standing exercise

Mummie is very happie today.
BB Caleb has now learnt how to stand while holding Mummie's hand from a sitting position. He is also trying to get himself into a sitting position from his knees. His motor skills has improved so much. I think the bumper playmat that we borrowed from Aunty Rose attributed a portion of this development.

Push Walker

Daddis's Thai colleagues are very nice. They got a new new push walker for BB Caleb. Daddie had to bring it all the way from Bangkok back to Singapore. It looks like a Fisher Price Push Walker but its not. Hmm 1 problem though, the push walker does not seem to be very stable.
Haha.. BB Caleb was very kan jiong when Daddie was assemblying the walker. But after its done, he does not seem fascinated or wanna play with it.

Bish Bish??!i!

Seems like BB Caleb has affinity with Angie Yiyi.
He looks forward to seeing her and playing with her everyday.Just a simple game with Angie Yiyi simply makes his day.

BB Abby

Recently BB Abby came back from US with Aunty Tiong and Uncle Lawerence.
BB Abby is 10months old now. She loves to talk. But BB Caleb is afraid of BB Abby when she talks.. hahahaa He burst into tears when she talks to him.
BB Abby loves cruising around as well as she has mastered the art of standing up and walking.
BB Abby loves food too and can eat alot too. She loves raisin..hahahaa
