Mr Teh Tarik

Recently Caleb has mastered the skill of transfering the water from 1 cup to another. It resembles the Teh Terik uncle. Take a look.
Also we have started Caleb on rice. He was able to take about 3/4 bowls of rice which we thought its not too bad already. We pour some gravy and soup on the rice 1st, then steam the fish and feed him. He seems to enjoy it very much.

Boy's Toys

Caleb loves automobile. He loves cars, motobikes, aeroplanes, MRT.
He blabbers quite abit too. He has learnt to say No and it can get frustrating at times. Everything u ask him, the answer will be a No. Hahaha.Ah Ma tried to put him on a potty, he will go: No No No No No No.. there there there there there.. meaning he wanna go out. Haha.. how to toilet train like that?

Recently he is very into 'Somersaults'.
He will turn and turn when he's on the bed. He loves performing for us and is especially excited when we laughs and supports him.

Oh yes, 1 thing very good about Caleb is, whenever he wants something, he will hold our hand and lead us to the object and point. Its good because he can 'communicate'to us his wants withouthaving us to guess, and leaving him all frustrated.

1st Overseas Trip and that is to Bintan!~Day 3
Well, it's time to go home already...
Same like Day 2, woke up and plan to have breakfast. The only difference was, we reached the brekkie place (Spice Garden) ahead of Tortoise F. Yipee!!! Hahaha..
The spread was somewhat similar to what we had yesterday. Anyway after finishing our brekkie, we hang around and took some pictures. Somehow Caleb was in a super friendly mood and he tried to approach Meg and hug her.. But then.. heehee end up in a weird way.







After being rejected by Meg, Caleb starting running around, chasing Dadi. Its always fun to watch Caleb..



We went back for a final dip at the pool.. see told u guys already. Its swim, swim, and more swimming. After that we packed our stuff and its time to go check out.

Well.. must say that Caleb was very well behaved during the entire trip. We are very proud of him. Think he is ready for more 'incentive' trips!

Caleb woke up slightly later around 8am. Quickly fed him his milk and off for the complimentary buffet breakfast. The selection was so-so but thanksfully they have the usual bread, and pancakes for the kiddos. The occupants from Tortoise A were very much like the name, Tortoise~slow. Heehee. By the time we went out for breakfast, the folks from Tortoise F are already done with breakfast liao lor..

Well after breakfast, we adjourned to Tortoise F for a dip.. and guess what, again we are too slow. They are done with their swimming already. Gosh!!!! Nonetheless since we are already there, might as well just jump into the pool haha..

Caleb is still very much afraid of the water. Wonder when will he find his previous love for water. After the swim, we returned to our villa for the kiddos lunch. We made them nap so that we can have our lunch in peace.

After the kiddos wake up, we went for another swim. Hahaha.. basically nothing much to do except laze around, and swim. Well the sun was very strong and being kiasu mums, we slapped on quite abit of sun block for ourself and our kiddos. But Celeste still ended up being super tanned. Hahaha..

The tortoises at Tortoise A are trying very hard to beat the folks at Tortoise F. Heehee determined not to be tortoise again, we rushed and finally, we reached the Kelong earlier than Tortoise F. Heehee.. Boy were we elated!!!!

Well, we arranged to have dinner at a kelong located within Nirwana Gardens. Hmm.. the kelong was hot and humid (i know.. its expected of a kelong but still....)

This weather is bad for the kiddos. They couldnt sit still. We have to bring them out for walks. Luckily Aunty Sophia brought along her bottle of bubbles.. Provided some entertainment for the kiddos.

Well, food at the kelong also so-so only. They also forgot 1 of orders which we gladly cancelled cos everyone was full already.

So we went back to the villa and quickly settled the children to bed. Well..the mamis stayed up and chit chat till 3am... heehee.. alot to talk hor hahahaa...

1st Overseas Trip and that is to Bintan!~Day 1

ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!
Caleb just came back from his very first overseas trip. We went to Bintan for a short getaway.This is a joint trip planned by Caleb's Mami, Aunty Celine, Aunty Sophia, Aunty Tracy and Aunty Rach. It was a 3D2N trip. We set off on 17th June and was back on 19th June.

Departure Day~17th June
We woke up to a cold morning. It was drizzling slightly.We have arranged to meet to meet at Tanah Merah Ferry terminal at 10.30am. We went to pick up the Niam family heehee cos Uncle Bo sent his car for repainting. The car ride was fun with so many people on board.
Upon reaching the terminal, we saw planes above us.. Wow,the kids excited to see the aeroplanes especially Celeste!
Well, after we reached the terminal, the rest also started coming in except Aunty Rachel. We called her only to discover that she was still at home. We decide to check in first because we were afraid there will not be seats left.

By the very last min, Aunty Rachel finally made it to the check in. *Phew*

So all of us boarded the ferry sucessfully. Thanksfully, Caleb sleep throughout the 1 hour ride. So its a plus point for us. Heehee

On the ferry.. .. ..

After hitting shores and clearing the customs, we went on board the Nirwana Gardens bus that was supposed to pick us up. Hmm.. i must say that they are quite 'forgetful'. They almost left behind Uncle Bo's luggage. *tsk tsk*

The bus ride was alright and we reached the hotel pretty soon. Our villa, Tortoise A was ready for check in already. But the other villa, Tortoise F which is shared by Aunty Tracy, Aunty Rachel was not ready yet. The names sure are funny.. Tortoise. Heehee. But then, by this time all of us were growling with hunger already hence we decided to eat 1st b4 we adjourned to our villas..

After lunch, we proceeded to check into our 'Home', Tortoise A.

We planned to have BBQ dinner tonight. But the BBQ was kinda a diaster. We rented the BBQ pit from Nirwana gardens and well, the kind folks helped us to set the fire. But the fire that that started seem to be impossible for BBQ. The fire is huge and the food was all burnt. *Sigh* Uncle Daren had to cook the rest of the food over a stove.

But special thanks to Uncle Bo and of Caleb's Dadi for manning the BBQ fort. Heehee.

After all our kiddos went to bed, the adults stayed up and chit chat. We saw a 'big whale at work' (its a joke known to us only).. hahaha.Well it was also the 1st time that we witness a dream feed. Aunty Tracy feed milk to Meg in the middle of her sleep without waking Meg up. Must say, its rather impressive!

Mother Day's Dinner at Jumbo

This is the 2nd year that we are celebrating Mother's Day, i mean officially as a Mami lar. The 1st year i cannot remember if we did celebrate. But anyway this year since Angie also became a mum, guess we can have a HUGE celebration. Ahahaha..

We arranged to have dinner at Jumbo near Boat Quay. The food was good especially the bacon roll, crabs, and the fried Mantou!! The drawback was that our orders for the mantou was somehow misplaced, we had to remind them several times before it was served to us. But overall, food was good!!!

As for the damage, it was $213 for 7 adults. Quite reasonable in our aspect cos we have crabs and some seafood. Cake is a must for Mother day's. Something sweet to end our dinner with.

Caleb also saw boats for the 1st time. We brought him to see the boats sailing past the river. He loves it!!!

Caleb is now behaving like a young adult.. heehee..
Why i say young adult, heehee. Cos i do not knowwhat is the right word to describe so,just say young adult loh.

When Caleb goes for his daily kopi session with Ah Gong and Ah Mah, he has the tendency to want to pay for his items. He will whine till Ah Gong pass him the money to pay. Hence Ah Gong decided to buy a bag for him and put $2 in the bag so that when the drinks is here, Caleb can pay for it.

Seems like lotsa children adores dogs, Caleb is no exception.
He will chase after the dog and attempt to hug it. We are always quite worried cos not sure if the dog will be irritated by Caleb.
We managed to capture a clip of Caleb 'playing' with doggie. It was my neighbour's dog. The dog managed to entice Caleb into my neighbour's house for the 1st time. Heehee.. The poor dog was so frightened by Caleb that it hid under the sofa, away from him. Caleb did not give up. He still try to bend down to catch a glimpse of the doogie.

Caleb really adores Avriels to bits.
The 1st thing he will say whenever he goes to Ah Mah's house is 'Mei'
Haha, he is looking for his playmate!
Similarly, Avriel will always flash her cutest grin whenever Caleb rushes to her.
Caleb loves to sayang Mei Mei, sometimes even on her butt (for duno what reasons)
Usually Caleb is pretty gentle with Mei Mei, but sometimes when he is too excited, he will be abit rough and Avriel will start fussing.

Caleb is musically inclined!Probably he has both Dad and Mum's genes. Dad can play the guitar real well while Mum loves crooning (in the bathroom) heehee..

R is for Ra-Ra

Caleb is pretty vocal when it comes to adult food. Not only will he salivate, but he will also exclaim Ra Ra!!!
This Ra Ra came about because we told him that he cannot eat the food as it was La La(meaning spicy). Somehow,he registered in his mind that as Ra Ra.. So he will go Ra Ra when we tell him cannot eat.

Caleb really adores taking pictures. We took a few nice shot of him. We managed to do it by showing him how he looks after each picture. He will be very happie to see himself and we will snap again.. So cute!!!

Walking Woes

Now that Caleb has started walking, a whole new set of problem arises.
He has now gained his freedom to roam every corner of the house. He is now able to tip-toe and reach for items on the table. We are now very cautious about how and where we place those dangerous items.
His fav playroom now is the kitchen. He will open and close the cabinet doors, he seems to find endless joy opening and closing them. He loves to help Ah Ma to rearrange the bowls as well.
He also raid the condiment section.. we always gets a scare when we see him taking the soy sauce, cooking oil out..

Shucks.. No cycling but heh heh got lo-hei!!

we are supposed to go cycling this afternoon.. But Aunty Celine called to say that it was raining cats and dogs at Kallang area.. So sad, cannot go cycling again.

This is the 1st time that Caleb is joining us for lo-hei, he sure is more excited than us.

He stared at us when we started doing the lo-hei.. he must be thinking..what are we doing man.. this is mum-mum u know.. Hahaha.. he was influenced by us and also use his fork to lo-hei with us..

Cycling Date

Woohoo..
the long-awaited Cycling date finally happened today..
Met up with Uncle Chao Hui, Aunty Celine, Darling Celeste and also Aunty Nat at East Coast Park. We decided to have the cycling trip in the morning cos it always rain in the afternoon recently.
Before we kick start our cycling trip, we must fill our tummy 1st. We had Macdonald for Breakfast. **yum yum**

We had fun at the playground esp the slide. Guess its worth investing in a slide afterall right after seeing how much our darling is enjoying himself.

We went on to rent the bicycles..Aunty Nat was busy cleaning the babie's seat while the daddies were making payment. Talking about it, hehee.. there is a small joke about it. The daddies are saying that they paid $22 for the bicycles.. and the mums went.. hmm so expensive hor! The daddies were like scratching head, 'har expensive.. weird'

In the end, we finally knew that it was $22 split between 2 families. Breakdown of the cost is as such :
$6 for the bicycle with BB Seat
$5 for the normal bicycles
+1 hour free
+1 free drink

Caleb enjoyed the ride very much. He was very relaxed throughout the ride except the end-part when he was getting sleepy and grouchy. He missed his morning nap so by the time we are almost he do not need much patting.. zoom off to la-la land..

Ohh.. Caleb is such a darling recently.
At feeding time, he would be given a spoon and bowl to play around.
Now, I will ask him to feed MaMa mum-mum and he will 'shove' the spoon into my mouth..

All I want for my 1st year old birthday is.. .. .. .. ..Sore Eyes

We made plans to go Sentosa on 17th Jan~Caleb's actual birthday. Hmm.. instead of spending the day making merry with the sun.. sand ... and the beach, we had to make a trip to the PD instead.

The culprit who jeopardised all the plans is nobody else but Mummy dearest. Mummy got eye infection on 15th Jan. It is a very very bad infection. It's so infectious that almost everyone in the house, except Ah Ma and the very preggie Angie yiyi. (heehee in other words, they are strong!!!!)

It was really terrible for babies or ahem toddlers to get eye infections. They will constantly rub and rub their eyes. Initially it started with just 1 eye getting red, and sticky with discharge. Very soon, the other eye started having the same symptom. It was very painful watching Caleb suffering and knowing that I was the culprit that caused him all these pain.

We wanted to bring him to see Doc Ng, but his clinic is closed on Wed night. So no choice, we went to Doc JT Heng at Jurong East. The clinic is rather new and well.. a faint smell of fresh paint in the air. Well, need to take some measurements at the clinic. Caleb is 74.5cm and a whopping 11.6kg now. No wonder, all our backs are aching so badly now. Heehee now we know why. Anyway Doc Heng said its a good thing that the redness is in both eyes and not just 1 eye. Redness in 1 eye could mean something else like internal bleeding in the brain or something. Doc Heng said the infection could take 2-5 days to clear up. Sianz!!
But apart from the eye infection, Caleb was also down with slight fever. However it was controlled by the adminstration of Paracetomol. Caleb also lost his appetite. He puked out his porridge and Ah Ma decided, no porridge only milk to be given. Poor Baby!!!

We have celebrated Caleb's 1st year old birthday today. Phew!!!! The day was sure long and tiring but its definately rewarding.

Well, the day started early for us with Caleb waking up at 7.30am for milk. After drinking and lazing around, we decided to go Giant to make last minute purchases.
We were also desperately trying to get some coloured papers from Giant so that we can cut out Caleb's name and stick it on the wall.. Well, as expected the selection at Giant was really limited. There are only 2 colours to choose from. We got the typical blue coloured papers. We also made last minute grabs for packet drinks for our guests. When we reached home, the delivery guy from Neo Garden was at our door step. We are kinda shocked cos it was only like 9+. The guy was quite candied. He said, not to worrie.. i just come and set up first. Today too many orders, so if we have to make such arrangements. So we just left him alone to do his job. We quickly bathe Caleb so that he could take a nap before the guest starts arriving. He seems to know that it is a special day today and hence Daddy spent quite some time patting him before he really fell asleep.

After making Caleb nap, Daddy proceeded to work on cutting out Caleb's name and pasting it on the wall. Daddy really made an effort to make it look good. He still drafted out the words on a paper before writing on the actual blue paper. Heehee.. the end results look good ok! Hahaha.. appreciate him to work on that cos Mummy's arts in school was really bad.

To be fair, Mummy worked on the balloons. Mummy rented the helium tank from Party City at $30/day. We also had to pay an additional $5 to keep the tank till Sunday. The sales assistant was saying that we could pump about 40 balloons based on the tank that we rented. So Mummy choose the colours of the balloon the night before. But after pumping about 40 balloons, there was still helium gas left, so Mummy continued pumping.. and pumping.. and pumping. All in all, about 60 balloons are being inflated. The place look like a nursery hahaha.. with babies, toddlers, balloons and all...

However, there was a small incident which really kinda spoil the day (ok lar, not the entire day but initially lar) Prima Deli actually spelled Caleb's name wrongly. They spelt it as Caled... helloo... what are u guys thinking man. The delivery guy was still saying.. its ok 1, nobody will take notice of the name one! Unker, u must be joking right.. how can guest who are attending birthday never pay attention to the name of the cake... DUH!!!!! So angry. Spoke to the sales office people who called up the Jurong Point branch to verify. Hmm.. turns out to be, its their fault. When we order the cake, we already realised that the lady has spelt the name wrongly. We told her to amend which she did on the order chit. We did expressed concerns if the amendment is good enough, and she assured us that it is good enough. But apparently when she faxed the order chit over, the amendment was not clear and the chef went to do a beautiful D intead of B.
Hence, they have to collect the cake back and re-do the name. Was abit angry with them cos they called and ask if they can deliver the cake at 3pm instead cos they have no driver...Got real agitated and screamed, do u expect me to go up to every single guest to ask if they can stay till 3pm cos Prima Deli who screwed up my cake can only delivery by 3pm??? Heehee... upon hearing this, they say okok, we will send immediately. So, they really came at 1.45 pm which was slightly later than what we have planned but still acceptable. Hence we proceeded with our 'cake cutting ceremony'.

Caleb was rather lost during the whole birthday song tingie and cake cutting. But i'm glad that he did not cry cos he's not used to having so many attention on him at one time. Heehee.. maybe its all thanks to the 'prep work' that we have been doing. We have been singing the Happie Birthday song to him for like 2 weeks or so. Kiasu mummy read from somewhere that there was a baby who was badly tramuatised during his 1st year old party that he only dared to celebrate again when he was like 4 years old. Hence we decided to prep him for this huge event. Hence even though he did not clap his hands, we were just glad that he did not cry hahahaa....
